IRS Tax Lien on a property
Richard and Patricia owned a house. Richard and Patricia had 2 sons together. Richard & Patricia divorced, Patricia remarried. Richard passed away single, Patricia's name was still on the Deed to the house they owned. The house was going up for Treasure Sale by the City of Pittsburgh. The house needed a lot of work. I purchased the house from Patricia for $1.00 and paid the City the property taxes that were due. The problem is Richard had an IRS tax lien of about $7,000. originally now it's almost doubled to $14,000. My question is can this lien be wiped out or can it be negotiated down?

I recently had my tax preparer to do my tax when she told me how much I will have to pay back I couldn't believe it. I was trying to do everything right so I would not have to owe the IRS. Since 2003 I have been owing. I put my 401 in after tax. When I received my 1099 form to file my tax preparee say that I will have to pay over $7000 because I had got money from my 401.
