jacqi asked on 7-7-2009

tax liens-IRS Aggressive NOW
how much is it and what do i have to do

Answer:

Jacqi, I don't understand your question. How much is what and what to do...ABOUT WHAT?

Do you have a tax lien and want to know what we would charge to help you? The IRS is very aggressive this last two weeks, garnishing and going into bank accounts without current notices so we are telling people to be very pro-active about all IRS issues right now.

Yes, we can help but we need to know more about your problem. Can you email me at les@taxnegotiationcenter.com and I will visit with you about your situation.

We have 2 retired X-IRS agents as partners and they are the best at lien releases when the facts support the case. They are Barbara Corona and Rachelle Reynolds and between them they have 50 years of collection experience, both behind the IRS curtain and now in front; helping people in trouble.

Let me know how we can help you.Lesley

Konstantin-how often do I upda

Thanks for the post-
How soon will you update your blog? I'm interested in reading some more information on this issue.

Answer:

Konstantin, I update 4-5 times a day, in between my appointments and phone calls...and when I can't sleep. I seem to wake up around 3am every day and begin my answers. I enjoy helping people, or at least giving them a direction."

" I find that they have no where to turn to, and can not get an answe unless they pay 1,000 to a stranger. So I started this FREE QUESTION and ANSWER forum to help. I hope it catches on and I get really busy. That would make me happy to help more people in trouble. "

" I am hoping people will read other people in trouble's problems and learn how to react and what to expect from the IRS or the state. "

" I work Nationwide it is easy with the IRS located all over the nation we don't need to be local any longer when helping.I have the 25 years knowledge along with my partners who are all retired X-IRS and they are good at what they do. "

" I have a husband who is a CPA and so many talented people to pool for the answers. What in particular interests you?"

Joe asked on 7-6-2009

Unfiled taxes am I in big trouble?
I hav'nt filed tax'es in 9 year's what and how can i take care of the problem? Did'nt know how big a problem till recently.

Answer:

Joe, I don't think you are in big trouble and I have been dealing with people who have not filed ever in a life-time.This is a daily situation for our firm.We have been helping people for over 25 years get back in compliance with the IRS.You just need to bring your tax returns current."

" Most people who haven't filed that far back do not have income or records, is that correct with you? We know how to get the income from the IRS and we can many times use an estimation method for expenses based on your occupation if all other methods are not available. You can email me at les@taxnegotiationcenter.com and we can get more in depth if you would like to? lesley

Mike asked on July 6th

levy-bank ?New IRS levy rules!
The IRS put a levy on my bank account...I think I owe 3-7000. I have filed for unemployment insurance...can I get back any of the money they are taking and can they take money from my unemployment insurance? Mike I will answer your important question at 10:30 my time. I have an appointment lesley

Answer:

Mike, You may get a portion if not all of the money back based on certain facts. If for example you have had a balance of 2,000 sitting in there for months...probably not. If the money in there is from a current unemployment check or your last paycheck MAYBE. If you need to pay rent or another bill that is directly related to survival such as medication for your heart the chances are better."

" I am answering all questions based on my 25 years experience and that of my partners both who are X IRS one in the lien department and the other in collections so their cumulative experience is 50 years and both retired here. When a bank levy is issued upon your bank it is for that one time and the amount that is in your bank at the moment. You can deposit the next day and it should be safe. The bank holds the funds for I THINK it is more than 10 days to give you the opportunity to get it released."

" The IRS does not know the source of the funds when they levy. You need to call and let them know.So the question I am asking you is what is the source and when was the levy? We are calling right now to see if unemployment can be attached, I know Social Security can be because I have delt with that many times. It would not surprise me if UI was eligible for garnishment."

" We are finding that instead of 5 notices 6 weeks apart which has been the standard as of last week they are garnishing and putting attachments on accounts without current 10 day notices. NEVER have we had this happen, if you have had a 10 day notice once; they are saying they have the right to GO_IN NOW! We are investigating it this week. We didn't think they could do it without notice currently, but they have the power don't they? I will be updating this site as soon as I find out the facts. Did you get a notice prior to the levy? If you need help and give us your contact information then we can help you. I can be reached at les@taxnegotiationcenter.com. Good luck Lesley

Aaron S. asked on July 6th

back taxes-Offer in comp?
I owe around $7000 in back taxes and was wondering if there is any kind of forgiveness of debt. I went through a divorce recently and a dependent change which has led to this amount. I pay child support now and cannot afford to pay the IRS too. Thank You

Answer:

Aaron, The only program out there for debt forgiveness are the Offer In Compromise(OIC) program. Anyone can do an offer but over 90% of them are rejected "off the bat". Our opinion is "The IRS looks for reasons to reject" because they are so over-loaded daily with offers.

In our industry today, there are unscrupulous people who prey on people who owe the IRS. They tell them they can put in an offer knowing full-well it will be rejected. But, by then they have already banked your money. Please be careful giving people money for an offer without getting an estimate of what you might end up owing the IRS.

We pre-qualify all people prior and we have never lost an Offer based on this standard and we are generally with-in 500.00 of our original promise. We have had exceptions of course...but generally our client has had a change in life style standards.

An Offer is based on a formula so it is fairly simple to determine what a person might expect to pay. An OIC takes 18 months average to get through so it is cumbersom in terms of paperwork needs. Some offers are very difficult based on difficult situations; but the average offer is predictable.

On my web-site please go to the Tax Freedom ToolBox Video it's called Take A Test Drive and that will help you understand what an Offer is and who qualifies. If you then go to the Offer calculator you will see what your offer might be, for example if you owe 7,000 you could pay 150.00 depending upon the figures you input.

That is where to start, then if you are close we need to talk. If you are not a candidate for an offer, we might be able to take your 7,000 and divide it over 60 months to help you out. Those may be your only options.

Let me kn0w how you come out at les@taxnegotiationcenter.com, and copy this question and answer into your email to keep me aware of who you are and the promise I made to you. I get many questions a day and that helps me stay updated. Also, please print out your offer calculations. Lesley

Advice from our senior negotiator.

Rachelle Reynolds says, "The IRS is relentless. If they think you owe, they will track you down and go after everything you have to pay the debt. The key to an equitable solution is to negotiate now, before you're in collections, before you're garnished or there's a tax lien on your home. We can and do help people every day."
