Est.Taxes and Penalty abatement
We are self employed and cannot afford to pay our quarterly tax estimates. Is there any way to avoid a penalty?
Answer:
I can count on 1 hand in 25 years the times I have been able to abate a penalty and never once on estimated taxes when they were the proper estimate. It would take some extra ordinary reason for that to happen. My advice is to pay what you can and still put food on your table then when the tax return is filed and you are still short and can not pay the balance set up a reasonable payment plan. If you have more details for me I can better advise you. Lesley
Haven't Paid Taxes
I haven't filed taxes for several years. I have been afraid to open my mail. The IRS just left a business card on my door. What do I do? Will they take my house? Will they talk to my neighbors? Will I go to jail?
Answer:
Rick, everyone's heart stops when those green and white letters arrive...but when the Revenue officer puts the IRS business card on your home or business door it is serious. It means you have a problem that has been assigned to the local IRS agent that will direct your case. Very rare is it you go to jail. I have in all my years reresented thousands of people who owe millions and haven't filed in many years and jail was never an option. They don't really want your house What state are you emailing me from? I think due to the severity of this issue and the card on your door we should have a one on one discussion. Please call me to talk at the number on this web site and I will talk to you. I need more information to help you. Les
Business bank levy -Paychecks bouncing
The IRS just levied my bank account and I have a business with all of the payroll checks clearing tomorrow for my employees, how can I get the money back? URGENT
Can anyone help me at the TNC???? Bob at B Builders Inc.
Answer:
Bob, The good news is that the IRS especially in today’s times will release the portion of the levy that you can prove is for your wages to your employees. This is of course dependant upon past promises and other circumstances that could have an effect on the answer. In my experience the IRS will release that portion for business usage. Such as rent, and wages etc. If you have problems when you call them give me a call toll free to 877-460-3862 and we can help you immediately. Wage Garnishment - Paycheck
Lesley the state of California has been garnishing my wages for over a year now and my hours have been cut down to where I can’t even pay my house payment any longer and my wife is gravely ill and can no longer work a job. How can I get them to modify this and is that an option?
Answer:
Jack Dubare, Absolutely, you can get a modification based on a change in your circumstances. In many cases depending upon your individual income and expense ratios if what you are saying is correct and providing your house payment and expenses are around the national allowable average range and you can’t make the payments then you can get a modification and or due to your wife’s condition may be able to UNCOLLECTABLE for the rest of the year until you are back on your feet. Call them and ask them, tell them your situation and if they won’t listen then email me at les@taxnegotiationcenter.com and I will go to bat for you.

Rachelle Reynolds says, "The IRS is relentless. If they think you owe, they will track you down and go after everything you have to pay the debt. The key to an equitable solution is to negotiate now, before you're in collections, before you're garnished or there's a tax lien on your home. We can and do help people every day."
